Calixte Delmas (18 January 1906 – 5 April 1927) was a French wrestler and rugby player who competed in the freestyle featherweight event at the 1924 Summer Olympics[1].
In 1922, he was the wrestling champion of Paris and became the Greco-Roman vice-champion of France at the age of 15. By 1924, he was the national champion and the youngest participant at the 1924 Olympics in Paris, reaching the quarter finals[1].
Delmas tragically died from an accident at the military school in Joinville-le-Pont, falling from a human pyramid and breaking his neck. A statue made by Raymond Sudre commemorates him in the Cimetière Sud de Saint-Mandé, although the birth date on the statue is incorrect[1].
