Otk Delmas

The Delmas Cooperation was established by a group of farmers, including Karel Schoeman, in response to the challenges they faced with monopolistic practices that suppressed wheat prices paid by millers. To counteract this, these farmers stood together and formed the Delmas Cooperation, ensuring they could receive fair, market-related prices for their products. Over time, Delmas Cooperation evolved into OTK (Oos-Transvaalse Koöperasie), which later became known as AFGRI, a major agricultural services company in South Africa. This development marked a significant step in empowering local farmers, improving their economic sustainability, and contributing to the region’s agricultural infrastructure[1].
